Concord Beer Scene

beercationWhether you’re a craft beer connoisseur or simply enjoy pairing a crisp, cold brew with a delicious meal, locals and visitors alike have much to rave about when it comes to exploring Concord’s burgeoning craft beer scene.

And if you’re looking for the perfect beercation destination, the greater San Francisco Bay Area boasts more than 130 breweries and brewpubs, and Concord makes an excellent home base and starting point for your Bay Area brew adventure. Use the map below to guide your way through Concord’s best brew stops before moving on to Berkeley, Oakland and then San Francisco. No matter your route, you won’t leave thirsty and there will be plenty of pints to enjoy on a return trip.

  • Begin your journey in downtown Concord’s Todos Santos Plaza at The Hop Grenade, where 21 rotating craft beer taps and a great outdoor patio await. (Looking for a memento of your brewventure? Grab one of the cool Hop Grenade logo t-shirts or hoodies!)
  • When you’re ready for more suds — and, maybe a bite to eat — enjoy the one-minute walk down Salvio St. to EJ Phair Brewing Company where we recommend the palate-pleasing Jaegerschnitzel paired with a pint of Shorty’s Revenge.
  • When you’re ready to round out the night, enjoy a 15-minute stroll (or you can keep that Lyft or Uber driver on standby!) down Bates Ave. to Mason Circle, where you’ll arrive at your last stop in Concord: Epidemic Ales. Cure what’s ailing you with a pint of Affliction Amber or a taster flight of Epidemic’s popular brews.
  • When you’re ready to call it a day, and save your self for the next day’s adventure, the rest of the East Bay’s fine brew stops await your arrival.
