East Bay Regional Park District – Many of District’s 73 parks have barrier-free parking, accessible picnic areas & tables, restrooms, drinking fountains, trails and visitor centers. Mt. Diablo State Park – Less than 20 miles south of Concord, picturesque Mt. Diablo State Park offers a variety of accessible features including viewing areas, picnic sites, camping, trails, exhibits and programs. Mt. Diablo State Park Accessibility
Matteo’s Dream – Since its debut in 2007, Concord has been home to Matteo's Dream, a playground for children of all abilities. It is one of the few playgrounds in the nation where children who cannot walk, see or hear, can play safely alongside children who can. City of Concord /Matteos Dream
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Water Park – The park’s Guest Relations center located at the main gate will help personalize visits for guests with disabilities and provide a Safety & Accessibility Guide that details ride requirements and any physical restrictions. Six Flags’ family of theme parks have recently been designated as Certified Autism Centers (CAC). The certification process includes intensive employee training to better identify and serve guests with special needs. Additional provisions include sensory guides for each ride and attraction, special sensory spaces that offer guests a calming environment when needed, expanded culinary options and an updated Accessibility Guide. Concord Pavilion – The legendary live concert venue is committed to a great guest experience for all and is ADA Accessible throughout. Accommodations and services include ticketing for accessible seating, parking, and help stations, as well as accessible restrooms and concession & merchandise stands. Concord Pavilion Accessibility
Shopping – All Concord shopping centers including Sunvalley Shopping Center, The Veranda and The Willows offer ADA Accessibility and parking. All centers also feature a variety of accessible restaurants.
Movie Theaters - The Veranda LUXE Cinema & IMAX theater offers reserved seating and wheelchair accessibility. Brendan Theaters Concord 14 is ADA Accessible with hearing assistance systems.
Transportation to and from Concord:
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) – BART, the Bay Area’s primary rapid transit system is committed to making sure that services are available to everyone. They offer services for sight, hearing and mobility impaired passengers and more. BART Accessibility
County Connection – LINK Paratransit: The County Connection is a Concord-based public transit agency operating fixed-route bus and ADA paratransit service in and around central Contra Costa County in the San Francisco Bay Area. They offer LINK Paratransit, an accessible services for seniors and disabled persons.
JSX (Jet Suite X) – JSX offers flights to/from Burbank daily out of Concord’s convenient Buchanan Field Airport. Travelers with disabilities may contact the Access Services representative at 800-435-9579 for information and special needs accommodations.
