Mt. Diablo Music Education Foundation

Mt. Diablo Music Education Foundation is an independent foundation that works closely with the MDUSD. MDMEF is dedicated to ensuring all students in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District have equal access to quality music education.

MDMEF aims to create and facilitate music education opportunities throughout the Mount Diablo Unified School District to maximize student participation, starting at the elementary schools and continuing through middle and high school as well as increasing community awareness about the importance of music education, and engage the schools and community to support music education.

Blue Devils Performing Arts

Blue Devils Performing Arts enriches the lives of young people through a commitment to youth development and performance excellence, while providing enjoyment for local community and audiences worldwide.

Blue Devils Performing Arts offers young men and women between the ages of 8 and 22 high quality educational and performance experiences in the areas of musical and dance performance. The Blue Devils’ objective is to develop personal character through challenging physical, emotional, mental and social activities while promoting the values of dedication, hard work, and commitment to a team effort. The experience that comes with participation in a performing arts organization builds discipline, character, pride, and self-confidence at a crucial age and forms the springboard to even greater achievements in adulthood.

Jazz in the Neighborhood

Jazz in the Neighborhood works to improve the economics of jazz performance in the Bay Area by presenting affordable concerts, paying musicians a guaranteed wage, and supporting the work of established and aspiring jazz artists.

Jazz in the Neighborhood is a program of Intersection for the Arts and a member of the Intersection Incubator which provides fiscal sponsorship, incubation, and consulting to its member artists.

Concord Art Association

The Concord Art Association’s mission is to promote and advance the visual arts and artists, and to enrich and sustain our cultural community. They support and and engage local artists so that we can collectively enrich the lives of everyone in our community through art education, exhibits, special events, and outreach programs

The Concord Arts Association is the oldest art association in Contra Costa County and remains a focal point for exhibitions, continuing art education, and community programs. Their educational outreach encompasses visual art classes for adults and teens, professional development workshops and art demonstrations, curated tours and artist talks centered on respective shows, and regional and art-centered travel.

Concord Historical Society

The Concord Historical Society’s purpose is to discover, establish, and preserve structures, objects, and materials of interest, importance, and value, in relation to the City of Concord.

The Concord Historical Society was formed in 1971 with the purpose to discover, mark, memorialize, restore, and preserve historical buildings, structures, sites and trails in the general area of Concord, California. They frequently work on projects to retain and promote this history of Concord and rely on donations from the public to do so.

Solo Opera

The mission of Solo Opera is to educate, entertain, and enrich the community through mainstage productions, concerts, musicals, outreach programs and other related art forms.

Solo Opera was founded in 2000 and has since produced several successful, high quality operas at the Lesher Center for the Arts and around the Bay Area. They have created a rewarding outreach program for the youth as a means of fostering a new generation of opera lovers as well as concerts for the seniors in their community.

Community Non-Profits 

Monument Crisis Center

Monument Crisis Center is a family resource center that provides food, education, and referrals to individuals, families, children, and seniors in need, no matter their legal status.

The Monument Crisis Center has grown its client base since 2003, adding approximately 1,300 new families each year. Today they have more than 15,000 households signed up for their Food Distribution Program, serving between 80 to 120 families each distribution. Although food distribution remains their primary objective, they have also developed adult education, youth, and senior programs to address the various needs of our clients. Monument Crisis Center strives to be a valuable resource for those in need of support in our community.


The Family Justice Center serves families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking. Their mission is to bring together the community to support the healing of family violence survivors, and to integrate capable partners with a comprehensive service approach to renew individuals and our community from a trauma of family violence. Their center is a community hub for education, comprehensive and integrated services in pursuit of justice, hope, and healing.

Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano

Started in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributed donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. They distribute food directly to low income people at community sites and make food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, need, and children. The food bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people, and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger. For every dollar donated to their organization, they can provide enough food for two meals to people in need!
