Going Gondwanan: Aussie & South African Plants in Your Garden

Let’s discover some of the best plants from the summer dry regions south of the Equator. Australia and South Africa are biodiversity hot spots with arguably the most unusual and garden-worthy plants on the planet. (Please excuse the presenter’s bias!) This presentation will focus on the tried and true performers, the new releases and some rarities that have excelled at the Ruth Bancroft Garden. We’ll cover solutions for shade, sun, slope, screening and some options for gardens with deer.

Troy McGregor, a former nursery manager at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, is the owner of Gondwana Flora as a Landscape Contractor and Nurseryman based in Martinez, CA. He has been growing, selling and installing plants since relocating from Australia to the Bay Area in 2006.
