Concord Hills Regional Park Port Chicago 75th Anniversary Event

The General Manager and Board of Directors of the East Bay Regional Park District, and the National Park Service invite you to celebrate the new status of Concord Hills Regional Park and commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Port Chicago explosion and its aftermath. This event will be on Saturday, July 13, from 10AM to 3PM at the Former Concord Naval Weapons Station. Community Exhibit Booths will be open throughout the day’s events. Lunch and refreshments will follow the conveyance ceremony. Parking and directions are listed on the bottom of the page.
10AM - Flag Ceremony followed by a panel discussion hosted by the Friends of Port Chicago National Memorial and NPS
11:30AM - Conveyance Ceremony with the US Navy
12:00PM - Guest Speaker Presentations
1PM - Walking and Vehicle Tours
3PM - Event Closing

Driving Directions From CA-4 take exit 20A for Bailey Road South. Head south on Bailey Road. Continue for approximately 1.4 miles (if you arrive at Myrtle Drive you’ve gone too far) and turn right on the unnamed road. Go past opened gates, and continue approximately 1.8 miles on the unnamed road, turn right to enter the parking lot. Event signs will be posted at the former gate entrance and parking lot.
