Last Bite: Taco Trail Reflections

As the years go by, the Taco Trail Challenge continues to grow, evolve, and become a true celebration of Concord’s vibrant culinary scene. What started as a fun way to spotlight local taquerias has now become a citywide tradition that brings together food lovers, restaurant owners, and the entire community in a shared love for tacos. At Visit Concord, we are incredibly proud of how far the Taco Trail Challenge has come and this year’s edition was one of the best yet.

From the exciting Taco Trail Launch Party that kicked things off, to the enthusiastic participation from locals and visitors alike, this year’s challenge was full of energy, flavor, and unforgettable experiences. The launch party itself was a fantastic way to introduce this year’s Trail, featuring samples from last year’s taqueria winner, live entertainment, and the kind of community spirit that makes Concord so special. It set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional journey through some of the city’s best taco spots.

We also partnered with local taquerias and nonprofit organizations to deliver tacos as a way to bring our community groups and small businesses together. Many of Concord’s organizations do incredible work for our community, and we wanted to show them a little extra love and appreciation for all that they do.

One of the most exciting additions this year was the new “Best Salsa” category. While tacos often take center stage, we felt it was time to give salsa its moment in the spotlight. After all, a great salsa can elevate a taco to the next level and Concord is home to some truly incredible, handcrafted salsas that deserve recognition. This new category brought a fun, flavorful twist to the challenge and gave taco trail-goers even more reason to explore and taste their way through the city.

Each year, we strive to not only improve the Taco Trail experience but also to shine a light on the hardworking restaurant owners and chefs who make this challenge possible. These local businesses are the heart of Concord’s food culture, and through initiatives like the Taco Trail Challenge, we aim to support them and share their stories with a wider audience.

Whether you tried one taco or completed the entire trail, we thank you for being part of this flavorful adventure. Your support fuels our mission to promote Concord as a destination for great food, culture, and community. We can’t wait to see how the Taco Trail continues to grow in the years ahead and we hope you’ll be along for the ride.
