Clean & Safe Concord Hotels

Whether business or leisure travel brings you to Concord, you can rest assured that the safety of guests and employees is the hotel industry’s number one priority.

As Concord hotels prepare to welcome back travelers in a post-coronavirus world, they have the right idea when it comes to their cleanliness and safety standards.

At the highest level, the U.S. Travel Association, which represents and advocates on behalf of the entire travel industry, released its own set of guidelines in early May. These guidelines are based on four fundamental pillars:

  1. Create transmission barriers
  2. Enhance sanitation
  3. Promote health screening
  4. Follow food and beverage service guidance

These guidelines aim to give all companies who participate in the travel industry guidance for how they can operate safely as the world continues its cautious reopening.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA) have also released guidelines for all hotels across the spectrum to follow & strengthen their cleanliness and safety standards. Concord hotels, in alignment with their major hotel management companies, have used these guidelines to establish their own protocols to assure guests that all rooms and public areas are clean, safe and uncompromised.

The Hilton Concord has implemented the Hilton’s CleanStay guidelines, launched in June 2020. Using the same quality brands trusted in homes, Hilton CleanStay builds on already rigorous cleaning standards. The Hilton Concord has posted their Extra Cleaning & Disinfection of Top Areas check list in every room, including the highest touch zones and the smaller things guests might not necessarily think of, such as the clothes iron and room safe. The Crown Plaza Concord/Walnut Creek is in partnership with the Aimbridge Hospitality group that launched the AIMCLEAN Guest Room Services and Sanitizing Program. This program ensures each guest a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. The Crown Plaza uses innovative ideas such as a low touch tray to display ID credit card at check in and baskets for used room keys. They also hand guests a clean pin for each use and have upped their game with high grade cleaning products from ECOLAB. On top of the new cleaning standards, it is a nice reminder of their commitment to their guests with a sign in the front of their hotel. For detailed information on the AIMCLEAN Program click here

The Clarion Hotel has implemented their Commitment To Clean Initiative with enhanced best practices to protect the health of their guests. This program leverages their already long-standing relationship with EcoLab and is in guidance with the CDC and US Travel Association. To ensure the cleanest rooms possible, the AC unit in every room is checked and cleaned after each guest visit. Fortunately, the Clarion has recently started seeing a jump in business. Tim Woolslayer, the General Manger of the Clarion says, “business has been starting back up in Concord and could be related to construction, CalTrans and Refineries”. For details on their cleaning standards visit the Clarion website. For more information on the Commitment to Clean Initiative, click here

The Best Western Heritage Inn launched the We Care Clean Initiative, promoting pre-registration, mobile check-in and the promise of established social distancing. On top of the guidelines to ensure cleanliness, The Best Western is using Electro-static Spray Guns to spray and clean every inch of the guest rooms. Juliana Lai, the General Manger of the Best Western Heritage Inn is looking forward to the future but still working to manage the present through their enhanced procedures. The Motels in Concord are also working hard to keep their guests happy and cleanliness a top priority. Motel 6 and Studio 6 in partnership with their parent company, G6 Hospitality has dubbed the Clean@6 program which builds upon the standards set by the American Hotel & Lodging Association.  Elements of Clean@6 program include frequent cleanings of public areas, providing hand sanitizer stations, encouraging social distancing, plexiglass hygiene guards at front desk terminals, increased guest communications on Covid-19 best practices and property requirements, employee training on Clean@6 standards, and required use of masks and disposable gloves by staff at all times while on property. At the Days Inn in Concord, all staff members have been trained in the “Universal Precautions” method and the avoiding contact with guests by wearing gloves and masks. The Staff have been trained to view guest rooms differently now and to sanitize everything more frequently and stringently. Guests can rest assured that their rooms have had every detail cleaned and sanitized. For more information, click here

Americas Best Value Inn and Premier Inn in Concord have also used the guidance from the US Travel Association and California Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA). Each certified in the Clean & Safe Initiative from CHLA. This program has a long check list formed of Guest Considerations, Employee Considerations and Cleaning Protocols.
