How To Experience Todos Santos Plaza Like a Local

​Diablo Valley’s 2.5-acre downtown gathering spot, Todos Santos Plaza hosts a number of events and attractions year-round.

For those looking for a place to play or kick back, a lush public park occupies the plaza’s core. Dotted with picnic tables, benches and a children’s’ playground, the plaza boasts a medley of trees and has free plaza-wide Wi-Fi. Whether you’re visiting for a holiday, traveling for business or just passing through, Todos Santos Plaza is a must-visit in Diablo Valley.

Getting to Todos Santos Plaza

Take the BART to Concord and hop off at the Concord BART Station. The 8-minute walk to Todos Santos Plaza is directly down Grant Street and lined with blue signs pointing towards the plaza. This is the best option for those looking to avoid the hassle of parking.

There is metered street parking available downtown Concord, although quantity is limited. For the best luck parking on the street, try to get downtown early in the morning. There are two free parking structures near the plaza – Salvio Street Garage and Grant Street Parking Garage.

Local Favorites

A favorite since 1980, Taqueria Los Gallos is your one-stop shop for authentic Mexican food in Diablo Valley. Get your seafood fix at Happy Sushi or try Way to Life’s infamous homemade granola. Across the street from the park, Hot Dog Palace is the perfect pre-picnic spot. You can’t miss the 1970s striped red and yellow sign. End a play day by cooling off with a sweet treat at Baskin Robbins or a new favorite, Cream. On Mondays, Off the Grid, a mobile gourmet food market, rolls in from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Wet your whistle with 21 craft beers on tap at The Hop Grenade, play pool and darts at Vinnie’s Bar N Grill or try some of the Bay Area’s best garlic fries at Tower Grille.

No trip is complete without a shopping spree. Half Price Books is a must while in Concord. This quaint store stocks an interesting mix of greeting cards, journals, records, trinkets and of course, books – all for a great price.

Occasions Worth Attending

Tune in to summer at Tuesday Night Blues and Music and Market Series, a local favorite for 28 years.

Experience a taste of Diablo Valley all year long at the all-season farmer’s market. Farmers and vendors are stationed throughout the park every Tuesday evening and Thursday evenings April through October. There are no dogs allowed in the park during the market.

Exercise Uncle Sam style at the Stars and Stripes 5k. This 3.1-mile run starts and ends at Todos Santos Plaza and includes a Brenden Theaters movie pass with entry. Make sure to stick around for the annual 4th of July parade after.

Celebrate Christmas in Concord sans snow with the city’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, a special visit from Santa and local school choir performances.
