FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO | ELAINE SCHROTH

Like every place else, the coronavirus pandemic greatly impacted Concord tourism this past year and, not surprisingly, our data reflects the losses. The good news is that leisure travel has begun to make a comeback and the local economy is showing signs of recovery.

Throughout the pandemic, much of Visit Concord’s focus shifted to building up and supporting our community. The following report dives into Visit Concord’s collaborations and advocacy with key stakeholders, as well as recovery marketing planning and initiatives.

In April 2021, the Visitor Center reopened and potential opportunities for new arts & cultural programs have emerged from these relationships, along with new supporters such as the Contra Costa Art Council and other performing arts organizations. We have continued with campaigns to promote safe, inclusive outdoor and family leisure travel and are ready to welcome all.

After this unbelievable year, Visit Concord still stands strong. More than ever, we believe in sustainable acts of kindness, collaboration, and building a better community together as we move forward.
