WALK AROUND MARKHAM NATURE PARK & ARBORETUM
For those looking for a calmer more serene adventure, Markham Nature Park & Arboretum is the perfect spot for you. Enjoy a brisk walk around nature and exotic and unique plants. Begin your tour in the Shade Garden on the south end of the parking lot at the end of La Vista Avenue. Use this map as a guide to help you identity over 600 different tree and 90 different species that grow in the park.
TREK THE TRAILS AT NEWHALL COMMUNITY PARK
Newhall Community Park has over 126 acres along Galindo Creek east of Treat Boulevard in Concord. The Galindo Creek meanders through the park where ducks and other wild life reside at all times of the year. Approximately 30 acres of park is improved with ponds along the creek, a play structure, picnic areas, bocce courts, and turfed athletic fields. They also have Paw Patch, which is a secure, fenced area where your furry friend can exercise off-leash.
