4 Hoppy Stops on the Concord Beer Trail
California is widely known for its sunshine and fine wine, but the beer scene has slowly but surely made its way to the surface.
California is full of fantastic breweries and for those looking for the one-stop brew shop, look no further than Diablo Valley. The area’s four taprooms are easy to access and even better to enjoy.
Located in downtown Concord's Todos Santos Plaza, The Hop Grenade boasts 21 taps and a great outdoor patio, which is a favorite for locals and travelers alike. The premier craft beer taproom and bottle shop doubles as the headquarters of The Brewing Network, a world-renowned live-stream radio, podcast and video of all things craft beer. These people know their brews, to say the very least.
The taproom has an excellent selection of rotating draft beers, tasty bar snacks and good company. Beer enthusiasts, add this to your bucket list.
Having opened at the beginning of the year, Epidemic Ales has already made a name for itself on the East Bay beer trail. What started as a homebrew hobby, Epidemic Ales now has eight brews on tap, giant jenga, board games, a kids’ room and a projection screen to catch the game in their downtown Concord taproom. Pro tips: they will fill any size growler, and they bottle some of their beers as well.
Located in Midtown Concord, Concord Tap House is bringing small bites and lots of beer to the Concord Beer Trail. With over 24 different taps to choose from, their focus is on local and Pacific coast breweries. They also offer flights so you don't have to choose just one!
Former brewing company turned alehouse, the company has deep family roots and strong ties to the local community. Named after his grandfather, E.J., JJ Phair started the company in 2000 to bring delicious beers to the East Bay area. The alehouse is a notable stop for good beer and good food. Giants fans, this is the place for garlic fries after baseball season.
