Visit Concord announces the opening of its State-of-the-Art Experiential Visitor Center!

Visit Concord is thrilled to announce the opening of the city’s first Experiential Visitor Center located in the heart of Downtown Concord in January 2020.

Situated on the first floor of Salvio Pacheco Square next to Todos Santos Plaza, the Experiential Visitor Center will bring an elevated, informative experience to visitors and locals alike to understand all that the community has to offer!

Keeping with Visit Concord’s commitment to sharing Concord attractions, assets, culture and progress with the world, the 1,650 square foot Center will feature a variety of state-of-the-art interactive displays!

Visitors will experience pop-up shops highlighting local businesses and community organizations, culinary demonstrations, art installations, and historic exhibits including a listening station that celebrates Concord’s jazz roots and native jazz legend Dave Brubeck.

Services and conveniences will be at the forefront of the Experiential Visitor Center. The Center will provide transportation details, distribute discount offers, and sell tickets to local attractions. An electronic information kiosk will list upcoming events and offer self service directory assistance. The Center will also include a small conference area, remote work spaces, charging stations and WiFi connectivity. With Concord boasting an average of 263 sunny days a year, visitors will be able to take full advantage of the outdoor patio and indigenous garden.

In addition to welcoming people from out of town, the Center will build upon the strong sense of community in Concord – creating a place where the community comes together. Local residents will be encouraged to participate in ongoing educational programs and volunteer to work in the Visitor Center as official Concord Welcome Ambassadors.
The Experiential Visitor Center has been part of the Visit Concord destination management organization plan since 2017. Led by Executive Director, Elaine Schroth and championed and supported by an enthusiastic, newly elected Board of Directors, Concord’s first ever Experiential Visitor Center is opening as the city begins an exciting phase of growth and development.

“We are very excited to see the vision for Concord’s first Experiential Visitor Center become a reality” commented Elaine Schroth, Executive Director, Visit Concord. “As Concord continues to grow, the Center will be an extremely important part of ensuring that visitors enjoy their time in our great city. Visit Concord’s mission is to promote tourism and showcase all that Concord has to offer. The Center will support our continued efforts to make a positive impact on economic and community development.”

The Experiential Visitor Center will be located at 2151 Salvio Street in Concord, California in the heart of Downtown Concord adjacent to Todos Santos Plaza. A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house is in the planning stages for early 2020.
