How to Celebrate Fourth of July in Concord, California
Independence Day is right around the corner!
In between fireworks and backyard barbeques, check out the fun, family-friendly, Fourth of July events happening in downtown Concord, California!
8:00 AM – Concord Police Association Stars and Stripes 5K Run & Walk
The Concord Police Association presents the 8th Annual Stars & Stripes 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run, happening Tuesday, July 4 at 8:00 a.m. The cost is $42.00 and includes race entry and a goody bag with swag, gift certificates and local coupons. Costumers are encouraged and top male and female finishers in the 5K and Fun Run will receive prizes. All proceeds will benefit Shelter Inc. of Contra Costa, a local nonprofit that is working to prevent and end homelessness in Contra Costa County.
10:00 AM – Independence Day Parade
The annual City of Concord Independence Day Parade is back for another year! Sponsored by Tesoro Golden Eagle Refinery, the festivities kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will start at Mt. Diablo High School on Grant Street, then go south to Willow Pass Road and turn right to wrap around Todos Santos Park. Come early and get your spot!
4:00 PM – 4th Annual 4th of July Festival & Fireworks
Concord’s annual 4th of July festival returns for the fourth year of food, fireworks and fun. Located at Mt. Diablo High School, the festival begins at 4:00 p.m. with a kids carnival, food booths, vendors, an art exhibit and live music from local band, The Bell Brothers. The celebration ends at 9:00 p.m. with an exciting firework display. This event is free and open to the whole family.
