5 Things to Do in Concord in January and February

1. Learn About Concord from the Mayor

The Concord Chamber of Commerce will host the 33rd Annual Mayor’s Luncheon, featuring Mayor of Concord, Edi Birsan. Mayor Birsan will present his State-of-the-City address, discussing recent happenings in Concord and the future of the City. The lunch will be held at the Hilton Concord, 1970 Diamond Boulevard, on Tuesday, January 23rd. This is a great opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about Concord, as well as network with local businesses and community members.

2. Ice Skating at The Veranda Shopping Center

The Veranda Shopping Center is a one stop shop for family fun! The ice rink is open 7 days a week, weather permitting. Tickets are $14 for 90 minutes of skate time, but be sure to check out the Discount Nights! Start off your week with “Locals Night” on Mondays and skate for $10, bring your family on Wednesdays for the $35 “Family 4 Pack,” or skate 2 for the price of one for “Cheap Skate Night” on Thursdays. The ice rink is open now through February 18th. The Veranda Shopping Center is located at 2001-2003 Diamond Boulevard.

3. Did You Hear Food? Dine in Concord for Comfort Food Restaurant Week

Visit Concord is excited to present the first ever Comfort Food Restaurant Week in Concord! 4. Jump Start Your Valentine’s at Super Valentine’s Boutique

Visit the 2nd Annual Super Valentine’s Boutique at the Hilton Concord, 1970 Diamond Boulevard, on January 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where you can get your special Valentine’s gifts for family and friends from over 60 exhibitors. From clothing for women, to home goods, shop a variety of items to make the perfect gift! Also enjoy a free chair massage and wine or a cocktail offered by the Hilton Concord. The first 400 shoppers will receive a Valentine’s gift bag!

5. Get Your Comic-Con On

Are you a fan of comic books, toys, and anything fantasy? The 5th Annual East Bay Comic Con is Contra Costa County’s biggest and best one day convention! Join in on the fun at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Concord, 45 John Glenn Drive, on Sunday, February 11th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to meet special comic guests/creators and visit over 100 exhibitor tables! One of most anticipated events in the show, dress in your favorite cosplay or costume for the celebrity and artist-judged contest to win prizes! Purchase your tickets online in advance for $6, or for $8 at the door. The best part? The First 500 PAID attendees will receive one of two different prints created by one of the East Bay Comic Con guests!
